Laney Machine Slick-Bore Rigs

Stand-Alone Slick-Bore Systems

4DT Boring Rig

These rigs are one-piece units. A hydraulic motor coupled to the engine powers two hydraulic cylinders that move the rig along the track. Rotation is chain driven and controlled through a five-speed Eaton transmission.

Standard features include:

  • Cummins diesel engine with enclosure.
  • Twin Disc PTO and clutch.
  • Eaton-Fuller 5-speed transmission.
  • Bolt-on flange adapter.
  • Roll cage with lifting point.

All-Hydraulic (AH) Slick-Bore Systems

These boring systems consist of a boring rig, skid mounted power unit and 50-foot detachable hydraulic hoses. Travel and rotation on the boring rig are hydraulically powered. With the engine not on the boring rig itself, these systems operate with much less noise, heat and exhaust fumes in the bore pit. They are also much lighter than stand-alone bore rigs, so smaller equipment can be utilized on the job for placement of the rigs in the bore pit.

As an option, a hydraulically powered Myers centrifugal pump may be mounted on the power unit, eliminating the need for an air compressor.

Standard features include:

  • Cummins diesel engine with enclosure.
  • Hydraulic tank with in-tank heat exchanger, temperature gauge and site gauges.
  • Independent hydraulic circuits for rotation and travel.
  • 50-foot hydraulic hoses with quick disconnects on both ends.
  • Single point lifting eyes on both the boring rig and the power unit.
